HostAP est un service qui permet le dialogue entre plusieurs AP en mode Host AP. Il implémente le protocole 802.11f et fonctionne sous OpenBSD.

Dans la version 4.0 d'OpenBSD, de nombreuses améliorations ont été apportées. Extraits du changelog :
